Fabric & Material Liability Policy
Last Updated: May 2026
This policy outlines the terms governing the handling of customer-supplied unstitched fabric, premium materials, and heirloom garments processed through the QikStitch logistics network.
1 Fabric Inspection, Disclosure, and Valuation
- Mandatory Disclosure: Customers are strictly required to disclose any pre-existing defects, delicate material properties, or high monetary valuations of fabric at the time of order submission. Failure to disclose such information releases QikStitch and its Partners from all liability.
- Inspection Protocol: Upon pickup, a courier or Partner will perform a surface-level inspection. If material is deemed unusable, structurally compromised, or high-risk for custom cutting, QikStitch reserves the right to void the order and return the materials at the customer's expense.
- Proof of Value: In the event of a dispute, the customer must provide valid purchase receipts to substantiate the declared value of the material.
2 Damage and Loss Liability Caps
QikStitch and its Partners operate on a limited liability basis. In the event that customer-supplied material is lost or rendered unusable due to proven Partner negligence, the following limitations apply:
Liability Cap: The maximum aggregate liability for damaged or lost customer-supplied material is strictly capped at a flat sum equivalent to the specific tailoring service fee for that order, or the actual documented cost of the material, whichever is lower.
3 Important Disclaimers and Exclusions
- Heirloom and Vintage Items: QikStitch does not provide replacement guarantees or compensation for the sentimental, historical, or "market-premium" value of vintage or heirloom fabrics. Customers provide these items entirely at their own risk.
- Exclusion of Consequential Damages: To the maximum extent permitted by law, QikStitch shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages (including loss of opportunity or emotional distress) resulting from material damage.
- Statutory Compliance: This policy is governed by the laws of India. Any limitation of liability stated herein is subject to the provisions of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, where applicable.
